We built Birth Advocate for birthing people, not to mine their data. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
The short version: We collect only what's necessary to run the platform. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. You can request deletion at any time.
This policy applies to all visitors and members of Birth Advocate (birthadvocate.com), a publication of Priestess LLC. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and optionally your first name. If you sign in via Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Invitation requests. If you submit a request for access, we collect your name, email, city, and any reason you provide. This information is used solely to evaluate and process your request.
Provider ratings and reviews. When you submit a rating or review, we store the content of your submission along with your user ID. Your first name may be displayed publicly if you choose to provide it; otherwise your review is attributed to "Verified Patient."
Usage data. We may collect basic analytics such as pages visited and features used to understand how the platform is being used. We do not use advertising trackers.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate Birth Advocate:
- Supabase, database and authentication (stores your account data securely)
- Netlify, hosting and serverless functions
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, Google processes your sign-in per their own privacy policy
None of these providers are authorized to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing services to us.
We do not share your data with hospitals, providers, or any third party that could use it to identify or target you.
Your account is protected by Supabase's authentication system, which uses industry-standard encryption. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@birthadvocate.com.
