Why This Exists

Legal presence changes outcomes.

649 women died of maternal causes in the United States in 2024. The rate for Black women was 44.8 deaths per 100,000 live births — nearly three times higher than white women. More than 80% of these deaths are considered preventable.

Most legal intervention happens after harm. Birth Advocate is built on a different premise: a lawyer in the room changes how a patient is treated before anything goes wrong. Legal presence is prevention.
